Boring and Engaged

Thinking more about the difference between being boring and engaged.

Boring is autopilot; engaged is jarring
Boring is busy work; engaged is after hours
Boring is testing; engaged is “But wait, what about…?”
Boring is video; engaged is a pause on the doodle
Boring is sitting; engaged is laughter
Boring is Facebook; engaged is squinting
Boring is presentations; engaged is cross-talk
Boring is yawning; engaged is anger
Boring is reading; engaged in quoting

Boring is teaching what is already known

Engaged is silence
Engaged is vocal
Engaged is questions
Engaged is disagreement
Engaged is relief
Engaged is inside jokes

Engaged is in love.
