    being a good leader does not always mean being in a leadership role. it’s who you are, not the position you hold.

    Exactly. I’ve come to learn that having leadership training doesn’t mean I should be in charge, it means I should be a contributor.

    Mark 9:35; “Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

    I have this quote from “Call of Duty: The Sterling Nobility of Robert E. Lee” by Steve Wilkins on my wall, becaus I need to be reminded:

    “No man is fit to govern others if he cannot govern himself.”

    “As a city broken down and without walls, so is a man who has no rule over his own spirit.” Prov. 25:28

    @Aubrey: I’ve been using that verse for a project I’m working on. It gives me a lot to think about.

    @DForster: That’s a high calling, isn’t it?

    To a certain extent, it’s not about me and it’s not about others, it’s about how I mold my life around principles –which at it’s core, means I have to subscribe to an objective reality. That’s fascinating to me.

    I’ll be it also puts you on the fast-track towards godly humility.

    Thanks for the comments!
